Ahmedabad Local Falls Victim to Rs 1 Crore Crypto Scam on Matrimonial Site

A resident of Ahmedabad has been scammed out of a significant amount of money in a cryptocurrency scam. The scam originated on a popular matrimonial site and has left the victim devastated. Authorities are taking action against the scammer known as Aditi.

Kuldeep Patel’s ordeal began innocently in June when he connected with Aditi on a matrimonial platform. Aditi, claiming to be involved in the import and export business in the UK, enticed Patel with the promise of high returns through an investment opportunity involving a cryptocurrency called “banocoin.”

Initially, Patel’s investments seemed promising, as he saw a profit of 78 USDT on his initial investment. Encouraged by this success, he continued to invest, eventually committing a staggering amount of Rs 1.34 crore across 18 transactions. Unbeknownst to him, Patel was being lured into a deceptive scheme.

As Patel poured large sums of money into the scam, he received distressing news on September 3 that his account had been frozen. Despite his alarm, Patel remained hopeful and reached out to Banocoin’s customer care representative, who advised him to invest an additional Rs 35 lakh to resolve the issue.

It was at this point that Patel realized the seriousness of the situation. Overwhelmed by a sense of desperation and betrayal, he reported the scam to the police on September 9. Authorities promptly launched an investigation to bring Aditi, the scammer, to justice.

As the investigation progresses, it has become clear that Patel is not the only victim. Several others have fallen prey to Aditi’s elaborate scheme, resulting in losses amounting to millions of rupees. The police are urging anyone who has encountered Aditi or fallen victim to a similar scam to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.

The modus operandi of this cryptocurrency scam is particularly concerning. Aditi specifically targeted vulnerable individuals through matrimonial sites, exploiting their desire for financial stability. This case serves as a reminder of the dangers that exist in the digital world, where scammers often prey on people’s aspirations for personal gain.

Cryptocurrency scams have become more common in recent years, with scammers using various tactics to entice victims into investing their money. It is crucial for individuals to exercise caution and conduct thorough research before making any financial investments, especially in the volatile realm of cryptocurrencies.

Although Patel’s losses are distressing, his bravery in reporting the scam is commendable. By sharing his story, he has raised awareness about the perils of cryptocurrency scams and provided valuable information for the ongoing investigation.

As the investigation into this matrimonial site cryptocurrency scam continues, authorities remain committed to bringing Aditi and any other perpetrators to justice. Meanwhile, it is important for individuals to remain vigilant, question offers that appear too good to be true, and seek professional advice before making any financial investments.

In this digital age, where scams and frauds are becoming more sophisticated, personal security must be a top priority. By staying informed and educated, we can protect ourselves and prevent others from falling victim to these devastating scams. The case of Kuldeep Patel serves as a reminder of the importance of awareness and caution in the face of potential financial scams.
